College Ready Resources
Resources
EPIC aims to improve the alignment of high school programs of instruction with college and career expectations. This requires changes in high school curriculum and teaching practices and will result in a coherently aligned school program that addresses all dimensions of college readiness and improves student success.
EPIC has developed several diagnostic instruments and online tools that analyze the nature and content of the high school instructional program.
College Ready School Diagnostic
Generate a profile of a schoolʼs program in relation to the Four Facets of College Readiness.
This comprehensive tool generates a profile that contains recommendations and links to resources that help high schools improve their ability to prepare students for college success.
Learn MoreCourse Alignment (CA) System
A comprehensive online system for uploading and analyzing course content to determine horizontal and vertical alignment of a school’s curriculum with college readiness standards. The AP Course Audit is one example of how the CA System has been used: all AP teachers are required to submit their course syllabus for a review to verify alignment with AP course requirements.
Learn MoreSyllabusMaker
Most high school courses are difficult to analyze because they typically do not have high-quality syllabi. SyllabusMaker helps high school teachers develop syllabi that contain the elements necessary to conduct alignment analyses and to communicate course expectations clearly to students, parents, and other staff.
Learn MoreCollege-Readiness Performance Assessment System (C-PAS)
This formative assessment system is designed to gauge student development of Key Cognitive Strategies from 6th- through 12th-grade.
By having all students complete carefully designed performance tasks that are scored by teachers using common scoring guides, a school gets information on how well students are progressing toward college readiness in the important area of cognitive strategy development.
